From Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom: Our 4-Park Disney Challenge

4 Parks 1 Day Challenge

Starting at Animal Kingdom

Our day kicked off at Animal Kingdom right at park opening. We headed straight to Expedition Everest for our first ride, a must for any thrill-seeker. Starting our day with the excitement of Expedition Everest gave us an energetic start for the adventure ahead. After our ride, we embarked on a quest to find the much-coveted Lion King popcorn bucket, but to our disappointment, it was sold out across the park. While we didn’t score the bucket, we still soaked up the vibrant atmosphere before moving on to the next park.

Off to Hollywood Studios

A Disney bus whisked us away to Hollywood Studios, where we confronted our fears head-on by riding The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This ride holds a special place in our hearts because it’s our 13-year-old’s favourite. Despite both my husband and I having a fear of heights, we braved it to capture that perfect ride photo to share with our son. The experience was both terrifying and exhilarating, making it a highlight of the day.

Epcot and an Unexpected Pause

The Skyliner carried us from Hollywood Studios to Epcot, a unique and scenic way to travel between parks. We had secured a spot in the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a ride that blends high-speed thrills with Marvel magic. However, by this point, the combination of Florida’s heat, humidity, and a meager breakfast began to take a toll on me. Riding separately due to our scooters, I arrived at Epcot before my husband and soon felt dizzy and unwell. I texted him urgently, and with the help of the incredible Guest Services team, who provided water and a snack, I managed to regain some strength. Though I had to skip riding Guardians of the Galaxy (motion sickness and I don’t get along on the best of days), my husband enjoyed it while I rested nearby.

The Grand Finale at Magic Kingdom

Reunited and re-energized, we boarded the monorail to Magic Kingdom. Arriving with time to spare, we embraced the classic Disney magic by enjoying some of our favorite rides. The grand finale of our day was the Fireworks Dessert Party, which I highly recommend—especially the after-fireworks option. This version lets you access the reserved viewing area early for a prime spot to take in the spectacular show. After watching the sky light up over Cinderella Castle, we enjoyed a spread of delectable desserts, making it the perfect way to end our special day.

Reflecting on Our 4 Parks, 1 Day Experience

Completing the 4 parks in 1 day challenge had long been on my Disney bucket list, and it was as demanding as it was magical. The day was a blend of high-energy moments, personal victories, and the unmatched kindness of Disney’s Cast Members. From riding Tower of Terror for our son to ending our journey with the enchantment of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks, it was the ideal way to celebrate our milestone anniversary and create memories we’ll cherish forever.
