Disney Dining Reservations Just Got Easier to Book

Planning a Disney trip just got easier. If you’re heading to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort and wondering how to book dining, Disney just rolled out some big updates to the My Disney Experience app and the Disneyland app. Whether you’re a super planner or just looking for a last-minute bite, these new features make it way easier to find and book Disney dining reservations.

As a travel agent who specializes in autism-friendly Disney vacations, I’m always on the lookout for tools that make planning smoother for families. These new updates are a game-changer.

Book Disney Dining by Restaurant with a Calendar View

My Disney Experience app showing available Disney dining reservation dates for June 2025 using the new calendar view.

Have a specific Disney restaurant on your must-do list? Maybe it’s Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, or Space 220. Now you can choose a restaurant and see all available reservation dates at once on a calendar. A green dot means there’s a spot. Just select your party size and go from there.

This is perfect for those hard-to-get Disney dining reservations. No more checking day by day. You can see everything at a glance and plan around it.

Character dining is easier to find now too. Look for a Mickey icon and a clear label showing which reservations include characters.

Search All Dining Availability Across Multiple Days

Mobile app screen showing dining availability for June 15 at Disney restaurants, with options to filter by party size, date, and time, and to join a walk-up list.

If you’re the type who builds out your Disney itinerary in advance, this one’s for you. You can now search all available dining options across a range of dates instead of just one day at a time.

You can also narrow it down to your ideal meal time. There’s a custom time slider so you can pick exactly when you want to eat. If lunch between 11:30 and 1:00 works best for your family’s routine, you can search just that window.

And if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel at Walt Disney World, you can still book reservations 60 days in advance for your entire stay (up to 10 nights). This helps a lot when trying to get into popular spots early.

Find Same-Day Dining with Walk-Up and Mobile Ordering

Disney World app view showing restaurant options like Blue Bayou and Kona Cafe with walk-up lists and to-go dining features.

Not everyone plans their trip down to the minute. If your family prefers to see how the day goes, Disney now makes it easier to grab food without a reservation.

When searching for same-day Disney dining options, you can join a walk-up list or place a mobile order for select Disney World table service locations. No reservation needed. It’s great for families who like to go with the flow.

There are also new filters that let you search by:

  • Location (theme park, resort, Disney Springs)
  • Proximity (what’s nearby)
  • Disney Dining Plan eligibility (and how many credits are needed)

Preview Disney Restaurants with New Visual Galleries

Want to see what the restaurant looks like before you go? There’s a new media gallery feature on the Disney World app. Tap the ring around a restaurant photo to open a gallery with food pics, interior shots, and more. This helps a lot if you’re travelling with kids who are picky or have sensory needs and want to preview the environment ahead of time.

Why These Disney Dining App Updates Matter for Families

These updates are especially helpful for families who need structure, routine, or flexibility. Whether you’re planning out every meal or just looking for something quick and easy while in the parks, the new features in the Disney dining reservation system make it all much simpler.

So next time you’re planning your Disney vacation, make sure to download the My Disney Experience app (for Disney World) or the Disneyland app. These tools take the stress out of dining, which means more time to focus on the fun.

If you’d like help planning your trip or need support navigating Disney travel with autism, I’d love to help. I’m a certified travel agent who gets it, and I’ll make sure your vacation works for your family’s needs.
